Generated in your browser

A WiFi QR code lets anyone join your network by pointing their camera at it — no more spelling out long passwords. Modern iPhones and Android phones read WiFi QR codes directly from the camera app, without installing anything.

The QR contains the WiFi details directly. The code is generated on your device, so this website never needs to receive or store your password.

How to create your wifi network QR code

  1. 1Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capitals.
  2. 2Enter the password and choose the security type — usually WPA/WPA2.
  3. 3Download and print the QR, then test it with a phone that isn't already connected.

No signup required. The floor is yours.

Which security type should I choose?

Most home and business routers use WPA2 or WPA3 — choose WPA/WPA2, which also works for WPA3 networks on most phones. Only pick WEP for very old routers, and None for open networks without a password.

What happens if I change my WiFi password?

The old QR code will stop connecting, because the password is stored inside it. Simply create a new WiFi QR code with the new password and replace the printed card.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes don't expire — no re-election needed.

Your QR contains the destination directly, so it does not depend on our servers — or any paid redirect service — to keep working.

It will continue to work as long as the destination itself remains available. If a web page is deleted or a WiFi password changes, scanning can't bring it back.

WiFi QR Code Generator: FAQ

Is it safe to create a WiFi QR code here?

Yes. Your network name and password are turned into a QR code inside your browser. They are not sent to our servers or to analytics.

Do guests need an app to scan a WiFi QR code?

No. The built-in camera on iPhone (iOS 11+) and most Android phones recognises WiFi QR codes and offers to join the network.

Does it work for hidden networks?

Yes. Tick 'Hidden network' so phones know to connect even though the network isn't broadcast.

Can people see my password in the QR code?

Anyone who scans it with a QR reader app can read the password, just like anyone you tell it to. For businesses, a separate guest network is recommended.
