An event QR code contains the name, date, time and place of your event in the standard calendar (iCalendar) format. Scanners that support it offer to add the event straight to the phone's calendar.

Support varies by phone: many Android phones handle event QR codes directly, while some iPhones show the details as text. For the widest support, also print the date in plain text next to the code.

Time zones

The event uses floating local time, meaning the time shown is the same wherever the phone is. That's what most local events need. For online events across time zones, mention the time zone in the description.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes don't expire — no re-election needed.

Your QR contains the destination directly, so it does not depend on our servers — or any paid redirect service — to keep working.

It will continue to work as long as the destination itself remains available. If a web page is deleted or a WiFi password changes, scanning can't bring it back.

Will it add the event to iPhone calendars?

Support depends on the iOS version and the scanner app. If the camera shows text instead, a calendar link (for example from Google Calendar) in a URL QR code is a good alternative.

Can I add a reminder?

Reminders are set by each guest in their own calendar app after saving the event.

Can I create a multi-day event?

This generator creates single-day events. For multi-day events, create a calendar link and use the URL QR generator.
