Generated in your browser

A text QR code stores your words directly in the code. When someone scans it, the text appears on their screen — no website, no internet connection and no app required.

That makes text QR codes perfect for short instructions, serial numbers, a secret message in a gift, or information in places with poor reception.

How much text fits in a QR code?

Technically a QR code can hold a few thousand characters, but the more you add, the denser and harder to scan it becomes. For printed codes, aim for under 300 characters. If you need more, put the text on a web page and use a URL QR code instead.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes don't expire — no re-election needed.

Your QR contains the destination directly, so it does not depend on our servers — or any paid redirect service — to keep working.

It will continue to work as long as the destination itself remains available. If a web page is deleted or a WiFi password changes, scanning can't bring it back.

Text to QR Code Generator: FAQ

Does a text QR code need internet to scan?

No. The text is inside the code itself, so phones can display it offline.

Can I use emojis or other languages?

Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so accents, non-Latin scripts and emojis work on modern phones.

What happens when someone scans it?

Most phone cameras show the text in a preview or open it in a notes-style view where it can be copied.
