How to Add a Logo to a QR Code Without Breaking It

Add your logo to a QR code the right way: size, error correction, contrast and testing for reliable scans.

Why a logo can work at all

QR codes contain error correction: extra data that allows a code to be read even when part is damaged or covered. When you add a logo, we switch to the highest level (H), which tolerates around 30% of the code being hidden.

Best practices

  • Keep the logo small — we limit it to a safe size automatically
  • Use a simple logo or icon rather than full text
  • Use a PNG with transparent background for the cleanest result
  • Keep the QR dark and the background light

Always test

Logos make codes more fragile. Test the final download on several phones before printing large quantities.
